Vista Lakes -> Sunshine ski area parking

On June 28th, the trails have begun melting and the access in to the back country of Banff National Park has become accessible. So, I began ticking of trails, and first up was from Vista lakes to Sunshine ski area parking. This is a 40km trail that goes over 3 passes with 2000m vertical. The trail conditions were so so, having many river crossings and deep snow, with the odd post hole to my knees. But all around just an absolutely beautiful trail, seeing so much within 40km. From high snowy passes in white out conditions to beautiful sunny alpine meadows. Highly recommend running this trail! Taking me almost 5 hours to complete, its a perfect half day backcountry run in BNP
